At the start of the day, Alain will demonstrate a painterly approach to the landscape en plein air from start to finish. Then students will explore the grounds and paint their own painterly landscapes with instruction and encouragement from Alain throught the day.  The historic location of the Hill-Stead Museum provides a bounty of inspiration from beautiful gardens to historic New England architecture with open farmland vistas and majestic trees throughout the 152 acre historic landscape. We will conclude our day together with a guided tour of the extraordinary Hill-Stead Museum Collection of impressionist artworks at 3pm.
